As a result of continual use a computer is that over time it becomes less efficient at completing the tasks you request. This may be down to the number of applications installed or open at any one time, the volume of data stored on the computer or, worst case scenario, a virus infection. Typically you may notice this through the slowness of the computer. So we would recommend either regular maintenance of your computer or an ad hoc service – just like a car service!! Regular This is preventative maintenance to ensure: The operating system has the latest updates installed. The security software has all the latest updates installed and a full virus and anti spyware scan completed. The data is backed up – assuming this is a requirement of the maintenance. All other software has the latest updates installed. All hardware has the latest updates installed. Hard drive check completed. Hard drive defrag completed. Regular maintenance will be completed remotely (via a software utility and your internet connection) in the first instance. All on site visits if required are not included in the maintenance price quoted and are chargeable at an hourly rate of £25 including VAT. Prices start at £50 per quarter including VAT for remote assistance for 1 computer whether this is a Mac or PC with regular maintenance as described above completed once a quarter. Ad hoc This is by its very nature a specific fix for the problem. This is completed as and when an issue arises. So the process is as follows: You confirm what issues you are having with as much detail as possible. We will confirm a quote for investigating and recommending a solution to the problem or problems. You have an option either to follow the recommendation or request that we complete this work on your behalf. Again before we complete the work, we will provide a quote. This quote is a fixed price and will not be exceeded. We charge by the hour for this type of work and the hourly rates start at £30 including VAT per hour.
