To be honest if all you need is a pc / laptop to surf the web, buy it from
one of the many retails stores or online. But get a laptop if you have a wireless
network. There is no difference in specification for the lower end PCs and laptops and
very little difference in price.

Your specific needs may be a games PC or a PC for CAD applications. Both are
graphically intensive and therefore require high level graphics cards. Games machines
benefiit from SLA graphics (2 or more!) cards but CAD machines do not! Both benefit
from 2 or more processors but this is more future proofing for games machines.
